While most girls are out hosting tea parties and playing with dolls- all Lila wants to do is catch a big fish like the ones in her grandpappy’s stories off the coast in Maine. The only issue is everyone knows his fishing success- even the greedy birds! This figurative piece was created with emphasis on clear composition, fun storytelling elements, and a bluish grey pallet to affect the mood. To push the cool atmosphere, I purposefully chose a bright color for the coat to make Lila stand out even more.
